The first stage has now been completed due to the efforts of Vaughan Hill, Rowdy Sullivan and a number of our senior students. The interior of the pool has been painted, benches have been built on some pool sides and raised garden beds built and filled with top soil and compost.
The next stage is the inclusion of a 6x10 foot polycarbonate greenhouse which we will use to grow plants from seed. We have applied to the Fonterra Grassroots Fund for financial assistance for this aspect of the project.
Next week we are meeting local artist Wayne Patrick seeking his advice on how to create a calm and visual experience for everyone working in and visiting this area.
Towards the end of the term the Student Council will be running a competition to name this new arae of our school. Watch this space!
